Gifts for a new baby

For a new baby, Maa works almost entirely in cotton — soft enough for skin that's only a few weeks old, and sturdy enough to survive being washed after every feed. Blankets, booties and amigurumi toys are what get asked for most, usually as a baby shower gift or a first hospital visit present.

Most baby pieces are made to order, since colours and sizes matter more here than almost anywhere else — check the lead time on the product page and order a little ahead of the date you need it by. If you're buying before the baby arrives and don't know the sex yet, a neutral cream or sage tends to work better than picking blue or pink and hoping.
